Inspired by Dick Shaffer, a Borodino triathlete who passed away from cancer in 2006, his family created the ride to celebrate his "never give up spirit" and to encourage others fighting cancer.

Building on the Shaffer family years of success, SkanRaces.com continued the ride from 2010 to 2012.

We do not plan to hold this event in 2014, but encourage the community to join us on August 30th and 31st for the Labor Day Race Weekend events.
